Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using CaliMob ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

Description of Service

CaliMob is a cloud-based book library management platform that allows users to sync, organize, and read their personal e-book collections across multiple devices. The Service includes web, desktop (via Calibre plugin), and mobile applications.

Account Registration

  • You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
  • One person may not maintain more than one account.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

Subscriptions and Payment

Free Tier

CaliMob offers a free tier with limited features and storage. Free accounts are subject to usage limits as described on our Pricing page.

Paid Plans

  • Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually, depending on your chosen plan.
  • Payments are processed through Stripe or PayPal.
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time. Access continues until the end of the current billing period.
  • Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis within 14 days of purchase.

User Content

Ownership

You retain full ownership of all content you upload to CaliMob, including e-book files, metadata, and reading notes. CaliMob does not claim any intellectual property rights over your content.

License Grant

By uploading content, you grant CaliMob a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and transmit your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service (e.g., syncing across devices, generating cover thumbnails, indexing for search).

Content Restrictions

You agree not to upload content that:

  • Infringes on the intellectual property rights of others
  • Contains malware, viruses, or harmful code
  • Is illegal under applicable law
  • Is used for unauthorized distribution of copyrighted material

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to distribute pirated content
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data
  • Reverse-engineer or decompile the Service
  • Use automated tools to scrape or overload the Service
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CaliMob shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, profits, or goodwill. Our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

AI Credits & Fair Use

CaliMob offers AI-powered features (book chat, summaries, smart search) fueled by a credit system. Each subscription tier includes a monthly allowance of AI credits. Additional credits can be purchased as top-up packs.

Fair Use Policy

  • Included credits reset monthly on your billing date. Unused credits do not roll over.
  • Top-up credits do not expire and are consumed after included credits are exhausted.
  • Automated or bulk usage (scripts, bots, or programmatic loops) that exceeds 10× your tier's monthly allowance in a single day may trigger temporary rate limiting.
  • Abuse — including reselling credits, using the API to build competing products, or deliberately circumventing rate limits — may result in account suspension.

Refunds for AI Top-ups

  • Unused top-up credits are refundable within 14 days of purchase, minus any credits already consumed.
  • If you've used more than 50% of a top-up pack, no refund is available for that pack.
  • Refunds are processed through your original payment method (Stripe or PayPal).
  • To request a refund, contact support.

Termination

  • You may delete your account at any time through your profile settings.
  • We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms.
  • Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
  • You may export your library data before account deletion.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the European Union and applicable national laws. Any disputes shall be resolved in the competent courts of the service provider's registered jurisdiction.
